Frequently asked questions about your P-STIM treatment

Q. How long does each treatment last?
A. Each treatment cycle lasts for 4 days, and then the device is removed and discarded.

Q. How many treatments will I need?
A. Each patient is different. Your health care professional will discuss your progress with you and determine the optimum number of treatments based on your symptoms.

Q. What will I feel during the treatment?
A. You will feel a mild tapping or pulsing at the treatment points. The intensity depends on the patient. It is generally very mild and will diminish over the 4 days of treatment. Many patients feel a sense of euphoria and relaxation during the first few treatments while others may not.

Q. Will I get an electrical shock if the device gets wet?
A. Certainly not. If the device gets wet, it will simply stop functioning and you should return to your care professional for a replacement device as soon as possible.

Q. Can the device be re-used and how do I dispose of it?
A. The P-STIM is a single use disposable medical device. Ask your health care professional about the proper removal and disposal procedures.

Q. How long will I feel the effects after I take off the P-STIM?
A. Understanding that every patient reacts differently, it is not uncommon for the effects to last for month and in some cases much longer given the normal course of treatment is followed. If or when pain does return the next course of treatment is normally an abbreviated one.
